Rights Respecting Schools
Developing a Culture of Pupil Leadership
Article 12 – Every child has the right to express their views, feelings and wishes in all matters affecting them, and to have their views considered and taken seriously.
At Parklands, we are committed to ensuring that every child is valued, listened to, and empowered to make a positive difference within our school community. As a UNICEF Silver Rights Respecting School, we provide meaningful opportunities for children to develop leadership skills, contribute to decision-making, and actively promote the rights of all children.
Our approach to pupil leadership is underpinned by Article 12 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. We believe that children are active participants in school life and that their views should help shape the decisions that affect them.
